Our story

A note from Monica

Wife. Mom of three. Founder of Vita. Not a doctor, and the first to tell you so.

Hi, I'm Monica.

I'm a wife and a mom of three, including a set of Irish twins (two babies less than a year apart, which is exactly as wild as it sounds).

Most of my week happens somewhere between a baseball field, a cheer gym and a wrestling mat. If your calendar looks more like a game schedule than a planner, we're going to get along just fine.

Finding my “pink” again

Three babies, three postpartum recoveries, and breastfeeding all three of them. My body did incredible things. It also stopped feeling like mine.

Somewhere between the sleepless nights, the carb counting, the macro tracking and one random diet after another, I lost my “pink,” that spark that made me feel like me.

When I finally asked for help, I kept hearing the same thing: eat less, work out more. I was trying. What I wanted was someone to listen to the whole story:

  • The pregnancies.
  • The weight that wouldn't budge no matter what I tried.
  • The sleep I wasn't getting.
  • The stress.
  • The energy I just didn't have anymore.
  • The way my body felt heavy and worn down.

For a lot of women, there's more to it than willpower. And it deserves more than a two-minute “just diet” conversation.

That's the conversation I wanted. A physician who looks at the whole picture, including your history, your metabolism and your real life, and then tells you honestly what makes sense for you.

So I built it

I'm not a doctor, and I want to say that up front because it matters. At Vita, every medical decision belongs to independent, U.S.-licensed physicians, which is exactly how it should be.

With my background in the legal world, and my husband, Joe, being a well-known trial attorney, asking questions and connecting with the right people is what we do best. So that's exactly what we did.

We networked until we found medical partners who believe what we believe: real care, real access, and a way for moms and dads to reclaim themselves, without the gimmicks. That's how Vita came together.

Vita is for the mom who's put everyone else first for years. The woman who's done everything “right” and still doesn't feel like herself. The dad who can't remember the last time he made an appointment for himself.

Anyone coming out of a hard season who just needs a place to start, and someone who will listen.

Where I am now

Getting real help was my jumpstart. It wasn't a magic fix, and nobody did the work for me. It was the push I needed to finally start, and then I kept going.

Today I work out because I want to, not because I'm punishing myself. I eat foods I love, on my own schedule, without the guilt that used to come with every meal. No more counting every carb, tracking every macro or jumping from one diet to the next.

And now I'm training for HYROX. Best of all, my kids and my husband get to see the best version of me, because that's finally who I am.

I'm not sharing that to sell you a finish line. I'm sharing it because I couldn't picture any of this when I started, and if you can't picture your goal yet either, that's okay. You just have to start.

It isn't about being perfect. It's a jumpstart. For some people, that's a weight-management plan. For others, it's getting their energy back. Either way, it starts with a real conversation.

If I could find my way back to me, so can you. I'd love to be part of your jumpstart.
